They helped us through the claims process at all phases. Having an agent with a local office is so much better than an on-line insurance company. Add to that, their rates are the same or less than the on-line insurance companies where you are just a number and not a person.
Update: we have also used Trudy for financial advice. She stepped through many scenarios for when my wife and I should take social security (down to the month!) She also stepped through Medicare and supplement options as well as setting us up with another agent who dealt in Medicare advantage plans. We used her computer and phone to discuss our options for medicare advantage. Trudy is truly low pressure and extremely knowledgeable. We did sign up for the State Farm supplement plan."

"That's a great place to go, but man, do they push there Life Insurance? A lot over there always asking, do you want life insurance? After every visit, okay, not every visit but every other visit."

"Absolutely screwed me. I had no understanding on how home insurance worked and they completely took advantage of me. I bought my first house at 23 about 4 years ago, single mom with a newborn baby at the time. 4 months into my home, there was a wind storm that ripped off the shingles on my roof and broke a window. When the claims person came and evaluated it, she told me i had to file 2 separate claims and if i didnt, that they would drop me for my roof being damaged. i filed the claims, and they dropped me anyways for too many claims 🙄 i had no idea i could have asked them to file it as 1 claim.
Now, 4 years later, my daughter has been diagnosed with a life long condition that has required us to move to be closer to resources for her, but we have been denied every single insurance agency because of those past claims. Since i have had to contact so many insurance companies for help, a few nice agents who had to still deny me, actually took the time to explain things to me and how its becoming a problem cor many people. And now i just feel absolutely disgusted with how statefarm had taken advantage of me.
